Think Yourself Stronger – The magic of mind power :-)

The mind plays an important role in achieving every kind of success and goal. Mind power is the ability to overcome obstacles, not give up hope when bad, sad or disappointing things happen, become more resilient and have a greater sense of control over your life. Think positive and see the world through optimistic eyes.

The good news is dat we can train our mind to achieve this and become and feel stronger. How can we do that? Keep in mind the following 10 basic principles and find out how strong our own mind actually is:

1. Stop saying “I Wish”, Start Saying “I Will”.
Willpower is something that can be learned and/or strengthened with practice. Start listening to your self talk, observe what your mind does. Listen to what your mind is saying, but don’t act on those instructions. Realize it’s temporary. Breathe, and let it pass. You can actively argue with your mind. In the end you can beat the rationalizations. When we are aware, we can change it.

2. When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Keep learning. Embrace new opportunities, see opportunities, surprise yourself. In almost every situation, a little more willingness to acknowledge that there may be something you do not know could change everything. Go somewhere new. Do something differently. Do something that makes you enthusiastic. Keep an open mind and have fun with life.

3. Don’t waste your time feeling sorry for yourself.
Don’t sit around feeling sorry about your circumstances or how others have treated you. Instead, take your responsibility and understand that life isn’t always easy or fair. Focus on your capabilities and everything you have going for you, rather than wasting any time focusing on how bad off you are. Choose to feel good for yourself rather than pity yourself, regardless of whether anyone else does, because this is makes your life better in every way.

4. To laugh at yourself is to love yourself.
Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself. Life is not nearly as serious as we make it out to be. Laugh at your imperfections and accept every part of you. Think of all the beauty still left around you and feel happy about it.

5. Appreciate your life & count your blessings.
Appreciate what you have and more importantly who you are. Complain less and appreciate more. Put things in perspective. Know that’s it’s okay to be sad sometimes. Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful. Before you go to sleep think about a couple of great things that happened to you or that you are grateful for – no matter how small. Keeping your focus on the positive will really make a difference.

6. Start genuinely being happy for others.
Of course we all want to be happy, liked, loved and successful. Then why shouldn’t we be happy for others as well. Envy and jealousy eats up energy. So celebrate happy moments and successes with your friends or colleagues. The more beauty you find in someone else’s journey, the less you’ll want to compare it to your own.

7. Start focusing only on what you can control.
Don’t waste your energy on things you can’t control. Never force anything. Give it your best shot and then let it be. If it’s meant to be, it will be. Start replacing your worries with positive actions. Focus on what you can control and recognize that – sometimes – the only thing you can control is your attitude.

8. Have the courage to show your  “Real You”.
I used to think that vulnerability and talking about my fears, disappointments, regrets, sorrows and feelings was a weakness. The last years I learned that ‘taking risks’ and being open about what you feel helps you recognize that you’re “just like everybody else” and makes you more complete and happier.

9. Make mistakes and don’t give up after the first failure.
Learn from your past mistakes. Don’t view failure as a reason to give up. Instead, use failure as an opportunity to grow and improve. Be willing to keep trying until you get it right.

10. Take control over your own life.
Every one has a dream, a goal, a plan. Some have bigger plans than others, but no matter how small or pointless they seem, they mean the world to someone. Just like anyone else, I found out there is a way to every goal in life. As long as you are willing to make the effort, at some point you will find the road that leads to happiness. A road on which we will trap and fall from time to time. That’s just inevitable. So every time we fall, we have to stand up and continue climbing. The only person who can really make you do that is yourself. Therefore always stick to your goals, plans and dreams and never let someone else tell you what you should become in life.
